When I painted this, I was going through a bit of an internal storm. With every brushstroke, I felt myself becoming calmer, and the painting seemed to become calmer with me. I wanted to capture that complete stillness after a storm — whether it’s in the weather or within ourselves. I think we all know that feeling.
